Desert Passage at the Harwood

Day of the Dead Altars

Dia de los Muertos altars on exhibit at both the Martinez Hacienda and E.L. Blumenschein Museum. Free and open to the public; place a photo of a loved one on the altar or just visit for the regional flair of honoring the dead. A beutiful Mexican tradition that is shared here in Taos. Dia de los Muertos celebration

20th annual presentation by local expert George Chacon on the lore and tradition of The Day of the Dead. - Entertainment will begin at 5:30 with Bata Hondo, followed by George's Day of the Dead presentation, and then Mariachi and Flamenco with Jaime Martinez. Place a photo of your loved one on the altar to be honored with all loved ones who have passed.

Exhibits at Martinez Hacienda: Remnants of a Hidden Past

Exhibit of photos and essays from a very interesting period of New Mexico history - the crypto-jews. Their religious identity was hidden amongst their community except for their immediate homelife.
